Minnesota Board of Assessors The State Board of Assessors was established by the Minnesota Legislature in 1971 for the purpose of establishing, reviewing, supervising, coordinating or approving courses in assessment practices, and establishing criteria for determining assessor’s qualifications. The objective of the board is to ensure property taxpayers in Minnesota receive the most accurate and equitable assessment of their property possible. The Board also has the authority and the responsibility to consider other matters related to assessment administration.
